'Angela's Ashes' author to speak at Packard


WARREN — Frank McCourt, the Pulitzer Prize winning author of “Angela’s Ashes,” will speak at Packard Hall on April 9, 2008, as part of the 30th annual Trumbull Town Hall Celebrity Series.

The series, which announced its 2007-08 schedule this week, will begin Sept. 26 with the Von Trapp Children, a musical group consisting of the great-grandchildren of Capt. Von Trapp, whose life was depicted in “The Sound of Music.” Howie Franklin, chief steward of Air Force One, will continue the series Nov. 7, and Dr. Elliot Engel, a historian and humorist, is scheduled for March 12, 2008.
