The recorder deadline is approaching

YOUNGSTOWN — Those wanting to fill the vacant Mahoning County recorder’s position better hurry up.

The deadline to apply for the job is Thursday.

The county Democratic Party’s precinct committee members will at 5:30 p.m. Monday to vote on who will fill Ronald Gerberry’s unexpired term that ends Dec. 31, 2008. The meeting will be held at the Byzantine Center at the Grove on Shady Run Road.

Gerberry of Austintown resigned April 30 as recorder, a position he held since January 2001, after being selected to fill the vacant 59th Ohio House District seat.

Those seeking the appointment should send a letter of interest by Thursday to Kenneth Carano, the party’s executive vice president, at his home: 1906 Countryside Drive, Austintown 44515.
