Roche keys Fitch past Boardman

AUSTINTOWN — Kara Roche pitched a three-hitter as the Fitch High softball team posted a 2-0 victory over Boardman Wednesday in a Federal League game.

Kayla Mazerik hit a two-run double for the Falcons (9-15, 4-9) in the bottom of the fourth inning.

Kate Ferree hit a pair of singles for the Falcons.

Baseball

AUSTINTOWN — Lake rallied in the last two innings to turn back Fitch 12-8 Tuesday in a Federal League game.

It was the final regular season game for the Falcons (14-12, 6-8). Jason Bagoly hit four singles and drove in a pair of runs.

Lake (20-9, 8-6), behind 6-2, scored two runs in the sixth inning and six more in the seventh.

Michael Chack hit a double, two singles scored twice and drove in a run for Lake, while Drew Logan hit three singles and drove in two runs.

Boardman 7, Massillon Perry 2

MASSILLON — Senior Corey Keller had two singles and a double for two RBIs, while senior Corey Susany also knocked in two runs for Boardman as the Spartans wrapped up their season.

Josh Gardner and Dom Silvestri each had two hits for the Spartans (10-15, 5-7).

Silvestri, a senior, had five strikeouts and three walks in a five-hitter. Silvestri also doubled.
