People on the move


The following hirings and promotions have been announced by area companies:

LAW

Deborah A. Kaufmann has joined Harrington, Hoppe & Mitchell. She is based in the law firm’s Youngstown office and practices in the litigation group. Kaufmann formerly served the Mahoning County Domestic Relations Court as a staff attorney and magistrate for 10 years. Kaufmann is a graduate of the Akron University School of Law. She also holds a bachelor’s degree from Concordia College in Moorhead, Minn., and a master’s degree from Ohio State University.

ACCOUNTING

Megan Bartholomew of Cortland has joined Hill, Barth & King as a staff accountant. She received her bachelor’s degree from Youngstown State University and completed her internship with HBK.

HBK also promoted Dominic Mastropietro III to senior accountant after he completed the certified public accountant exam. He received his master’s degree in business administration from Youngstown State University.

RECREATION

Gretchen Julian of Youngstown has been promoted to director of the recreational services department at Kent State University. She had been interim director of the department and associate director of facilities and operations. She earned a bachelor’s degree in health and physical education and a master’s degree in exercise physiology, both from Youngstown State University.

BANKING

FirstMeritok Corp. of Akron named Stephen Swedik as senior vice president and retail strategic planning manager. He previously was vice president and senior finance director for Citizens Financial Group. He earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Youngstown State University.
