Time line
1971: Graduates from Ursuline High School.
1975: Receives bachelor’s degree in social work from Youngstown State University.
1977-83: Social worker at Mahoning County Children Services Board.
1986: Receives law degree from the University of Akron.
1988: Becomes the first female Youngstown prosecutor.
1989: Joins part-time faculty of YSU, where she teaches sociology and criminal justice courses.
1994: Wins election as the county’s first female common pleas judge.
2000 and 2006: Runs unopposed for re-election in the Democratic primary and general election.
2007: Announces her retirement from the bench, effective July 1.
