Salvation Army planning annual civic luncheon

BOARDMAN — Salvation Army will hold its annual civic luncheon Thursday at Avion on the Water, 2177 Western Reserve Road.

Festivities will begin at noon and will include the presentation of the 2007 Others Award to Eleanor Beecher Flad for her dedication to carry on her family’s interests in promoting education, history, the arts and the needs of the poor in the Mahoning Valley. Salvation Army Lt. Col. Fred T. Van Brunt will be guest speaker.

The event is held to promote the ministry and mission of the Salvation Army in Mahoning County and to recognize individuals who have given of themselves to better humankind in the community.
