Man killed in Mercer County crash

MERCER, Pa. — A Franklin, Pa., man was killed in a one-car crash in Mercer County. Pennsylvania State Police said Christopher C. Wentworth, 22, died at the scene of the crash on state Route 965 in Worth Township, about a half mile from the Venango County line. He was a passenger in a 1996 Pontiac Sunfire driven by Misty Flockerzi, 22, also of Franklin.

Police said Flockerzi lost control of the car at 5:58 a.m. Tuesday after exiting the right side of the road. She attempted to get back on the road and over-steered the vehicle, causing it to spin clockwise. The car left the road and turned over twice, ejecting Wentworth, who was not wearing a seat belt. The car came to rest on its roof in a ditch on the north side of the road.

Flockerzi, who was wearing a seat belt, had to be extricated by emergency personnel and was taken to Grove City Medical Center where she was treated.
