Chivas USA, Galaxy battle to tie

CARSON, Calif. — Maykel Galindo and Landon Donovan exchanged goals as Chivas USA and the Los Angeles Galaxy tied 1-1 Sunday.
Chivas (2-3-2) opened the scoring in the 35th minute. Ante Razov floated a pass over the Galaxy backline into Galindo’s path. Galindo danced around Galaxy goalkeeper Joe Cannon and slipped the ball into an empty net.
It was his team-high fourth goal of the season.
The Galaxy (1-2-2) answered back early in the second half. In the 50th minute, Galaxy midfielder Kevin Harmse sent a cross from the left flank to the center of the penalty area. Chivas’ Claudio Suarez tried to clear the ball but his attempt fell right to Donovan’s feet. From 16 yards out, Donovan settled the ball and slipped it into the left corner of the net.
FC Dallas 2, Real Salt Lake 1
FRISCO, Texas — Chris Gbandi scored the winning goal in the 82nd minute to give FC Dallas a win over Real Salt Lake.
Gbandi fired a shot from about 20 yards that hit the top of the right post and bounced into the left corner of the net.
Real Salt Lake’s Freddy Adu tied the game in the 68th minute with a penalty shot.
