Raid on Warren house nets drugs

WARREN — Police seized a large number of prescription drugs and cash Friday afternoon from a house on the Northeast Side.

Members of the Trumbull, Ashtabula, Geauga Law Enforcement Task Force charged Vincent Maggio, 45, with drug trafficking and possession of a weapon by a convicted felon, after a raid on his residence at 908 Hollywood St. He is being held in the Trumbull County Jail.

Jeff Orr, task force commander, said between 10,000 and 15,000 prescription pills, $10,000 cash, five firearms, a pound of suspected marijuana and scales were found in his fenced-in residence. The drugs ranged from OxyContin to methadone to Vicodin, Orr said.

A number of prescription bottles that had other names on them beside Maggio’s also were seized and will be made a part of the ongoing investigation. Most of what was confiscated after the three-week investigation was found in the living room area, Orr said, noting the house had a surveillance camera on it.

The investigation, prompted by neighbors complaining about vehicle traffic at the house, included drug buys from Maggio, Orr explained.
