May 11

Possible theft: An employee with The Reproductive Center, 900 Sahara Trail, told police the business has not received any money for several months from a company the business hired to collect past-due payments.

Theft/drugs: A 59-year-old Youngstown man was arrested on a theft charge after two 10-piece wrench sets were stolen from Sears in the Southern Park Mall. The man also faced a charge of possession of drug-abuse instruments after police say he admitted a hypodermic needle found was used for heroin.

Unauthorized use of a vehicle: A 39-year-old Shields Road man was picked up on a charge of unauthorized use of a motor vehicle. A Boardman man told authorities that after having been in an accident, he took his car to the suspect to be repaired but that the mechanic refused to tell the victim where his vehicle was.

Stolen property: Officers arrested a 34-year-old Boardman man on a felony charge of receiving stolen property after an Appleridge Circle man reported someone deposited his $322 unemployment check without permission in a Warren bank.

Theft: An elderly Traymore Drive woman reported checks stolen from her home and that nearly $1,800 was withdrawn from her checking account.

Criminal damaging: A woman in the 300 block of Afton Avenue reported a rear window broken on her husband’s vehicle.

Domestic violence: A Boardman boy, 13, was taken into custody in Youngstown on a domestic-violence charge after his mother, of Homestead Drive, alleged he tossed a serving spoon and struck her left shoulder. The accuser was not injured.

May 12

Menacing: A woman reported her 11-year-old daughter has been harassed at Boardman Glenwood Middle School, 7635 Glenwood Ave., including a threat that the girl would be stabbed with a knife.

Theft: A Boardman man reported the theft of a $350 tachometer from his vehicle at Southwood Auto Sales, 5334 South Ave.

Criminal damaging: A woman in the 6000 block of Applecrest Court found damage to a screen door.

Robbery: Authorities apprehended a 26-year-old Boardman woman on a robbery charge after a worker at Walgreens Pharmacy, 525 E. Midlothian Blvd., reported being assaulted while trying to detain someone accused of stealing merchandise. The suspect also faced charges of tampering with evidence and possession of drug-abuse instruments.

Theft: Someone stole several packs of candy from a Speedway gas station, 649 E. Midlothian Blvd.

Burglary: A man reported a burglary to his home in the 4000 block of Shelby Road. Stolen were an air compressor and a lawn mower.

Criminal damaging: A worker at Boardman Specialty Care & Rehabilitation Center, 5665 South Ave., discovered damage to his vehicle’s power window motor.

Drug paraphernalia: A New Middletown man, 23, was arrested during a traffic stop in the 7400 block of Market Street and charged with possession of drug paraphernalia.

May 13

Felonious assault: A Sylvia Lane man suffered injuries to his left forearm after he reported being a victim of the crime via auto.

Theft: A man in the 500 block of Boardman-Canfield Road discovered a global positioning system device and a radar detector stolen.

Robbery: A worker at Dollar General, 859 E. Midlothian Blvd., reported a robbery in which two shirts were taken.

Theft: A Southern Park Mall employee discovered two pieces of door trim stolen from her car.

Criminal damaging: A worker for Datko Manufacturing Inc., 415 McClurg Road, found damage to his vehicle’s passenger-side door and quarter panel.

Vandalism: A man in the 400 block of Annawan Lane told police a section of his vinyl fence and a window were vandalized.

Assault: Police took into custody an 18-year-old Struthers woman at her residence on a warrant charging her with assault. Another woman alleged the teen dumped soda over her head and struck the accuser in the head several times with a glass at Perkins Family Restaurant, 804 Boardman-Poland Road.

May 14

Criminal mischief: An employee with Master Park Martial Arts International, 224 Boardman-Canfield Road, discovered someone dumped several piles of waste onto the property.

Identity theft: A Spartan Drive woman told authorities her personal information was used to obtain a Sears credit card and buy about $64 worth of merchandise.

Theft: A $20 shirt was stolen from Value City Department Store, 1130 Boardman-Poland Road.

Domestic violence: A Boardman woman, 25, was arrested near Mathews Road and charged with the crime after a Stanton Avenue man reported being a victim.

Theft: A Brookfield Avenue man reported the theft of his driver’s license and a medical insurance card.

Auto theft: An employee with Sweeney Buick Pontiac GMC, 7997 Market St., reported a 2007 Chevrolet Corvette valued at $62,000 missing.

Theft: A Brainard Drive woman discovered $2,059 worth of fraudulent automated-teller-machine withdrawals.

Arrest: Police took a Mathews Road man, 47, into custody. He was wanted on warrants charging him with obstructing official business and disorderly conduct.

May 15

Arrest: Police took a Canfield man, 19, into custody at a Shell gas station, 5135 Market St. The man was wanted on seven felony counts of theft.

Domestic violence: A 30-year-old Boardman man faced a charge of domestic violence after a Terrace Drive woman alleged her estranged husband assaulted her at her home. The woman was not hurt.

Recovered property: Youngstown police found a 1992 Chevy C1500 truck after a worker at Wal-Mart, 1300 Doral Drive, reported it stolen.

Fraud: A West Boulevard man reported receiving three calls asking for money and his account information. The man said he called the number back and concluded it was a fraud scheme.

Breaking and entering: Police arrested a Warren man and a New Springfield man, both 19, after saying the two pried open a door and tried to enter Audio Extreme, 7000 Market St. One man was charged with breaking and entering as well as possession of criminal tools; the other faced one count of complicity to breaking and entering.
