Missing Big Boy statue found on the roof of Gahanna Lincoln High School

GAHANNA, Ohio (AP) -- A statue of the hamburger-holding mascot in front of a Frisch's Big Boy restaurant was stolen and later found on the roof of a high school, police said Monday.
The 7-foot, 200-pound fiberglass figure of the chubby boy in red and white suspenders was reported missing Saturday morning, police said.
The statue was placed on top of Gahanna Lincoln High School in suburban Columbus before students arrived Monday morning, said Gahanna police Lt. Jeffrey Spence.
Police believe it may have been a senior prank, Spence said. No arrests had been made.
A school maintenance crew removed the statue with a forklift and returned it to the restaurant, Spence said. The statue, valued at 7,000, was not damaged.
When the statue's bolts are removed from the cement base, the figure is light enough to be carried by two people, said Karen Maier, a vice president with Cincinnati-based Frisch's Restaurant Inc. Thefts have occurred at other Big Boy restaurants.
