Local flying club plans open house

SEBRING -- The Taylorcraft Flying Club will hold a free Fly-In Open House at TriCity Airport from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday (rain date is Sunday) for people interested in learning to fly and licensed pilots who are interested in joining the club.
The airport is on 18294 state Route 62, about midway between Salem and Alliance.
Visitors can learn about the organization and talk with club members, flying instructors and club trustees and directors. The club's three Piper aircraft will be available for visitors to view, and numerous aircraft will fly in. Food and drink will also be available.
The club, a nonprofit organization founded in 1937, is the oldest continuously active flying club in America, according to spokesman Roy Page. The club is dedicated to providing well-equipped, professionally maintained aircraft to our membership at a reasonable cost. Members pay yearly dues and flying time based on engine running time.
