WARREN — City police and Trumbull County Coroner’s Office are investigating the death of a 50-year-old man whose body was found near a set of railroad tracks.

The body of Charles E. Phillips, of Oak Circle Southwest, was discovered about 12:15 a.m. today along the railroad track near Martin Luther King Avenue Southwest. Phillips had apparently been returning from fishing when he died.

Authorities are attempting to determine if he was struck by a train or died of natural causes. An autopsy will be performed Monday.
