City prepares to hire North Pool contractor

YOUNGSTOWN —  The city’s park and recreation commission is expected to hire a contractor to build a new North Pool shortly, said Joseph McRae, its director.

Proposals to build the pool were opened only a week ago, and the commission opted today to give its members more time to look at the offers, he said. The board should have a decision sometime in April, McRae added. A.P. O’Horo of Liberty submitted the apparent low bid of $1,453,566 for the pool.
