Bishop George V. Murry installed

YOUNGSTOWN — A congregation reflecting religious and racial diversity, witnessed the installation of Bishop George V. Murry as the fifth bishop of the Catholic Diocese of Youngstown.

Archbishop Daniel E. Pilarczyk installed Bishop Murry today before some 900 members of the clergy, interfaith community and civic institutions.

The reading of the Apostolic Letter by Archbishop Pietro Sambi, Apostolic Nuncio to the United States, and Bishop Murry’s acceptance, made the installation official.

Nancy Yuhasz, chancellor of the diocese, showed the letter to the diocesan consultors, a body of clergy.
