Women jailed in episode at Wal-Mart

The younger woman's aunt initially told police she was her mother.
BOARDMAN -- Two Youngstown women were housed at the Mahoning County Jail, accused of numerous offenses including assault on a police officer.
Police were called to Wal-Mart on Doral Drive about 3:30 p.m. Friday on a theft report.
Store security told police that a woman stole more than 600 worth of various merchandise.
The woman, later identified as Jaismin Morris, 19, of North Portland Avenue, Youngstown, initially gave police a different name that police learned was a juvenile's name.
She was arrested and told to call her mother to come get her.
Stefanie Young, 29, of Lanterman Road, Youngstown, arrived at the store and told police she was Morris' mother. When asked to sign a juvenile release form, Young told police that she didn't have her driver's license with her but offered a Social Security number and birth date.
Police tried to check the number and birth date through the computer system but couldn't find a match.
Morris was placed in the rear of a cruiser.
Told not to drive
Young grew belligerent, trying to return to her car, a police report shows. Police, who said they smelled alcohol on her breath, told Young she wouldn't be able to drive, the report says.
Young then admitted she had lied about being Morris' mother. Young, who is Morris' aunt, was arrested and taken to a police car.
An officer tried to search Young and she resisted, and when dispatchers found Young's actual identifying information, they found a warrant for failure to appear on a criminal damaging charge from Youngstown.
Young, who was handcuffed, then tried to pull away and kicked backward, striking an officer in the knee.
While police were placing Young into a cruiser, Morris began kicking the passenger-side rear window of the cruiser where she was seated.
During the booking process Young told police Morris' real name.
When a sergeant spoke to Morris about using a false identity, Morris became combative, refusing to sit down on a bench in the booking area of the police department.
When the sergeant tried to use a pressure point in Morris' neck to force her to sit, she spit in his eye, according to the police report.
Young was charged with felony assault on a police officer and misdemeanor counts of resisting arrest and obstructing official business.
Morris was charged with theft and assault on a police officer, both felonies, and two misdemeanor counts of resisting arrest and obstructing official business.
Both are to appear today in Mahoning County Court here.
