McDonald school board OKs memorial

McDONALD -- The board of education on Monday approved creation of the Chuck Gresko Memorial.
The fund will be used for the high school library, weight room, and for special needs of less-fortunate families.
A donation of 585 was received by the district in memory of Gresko, who was a McDonald resident and had children in McDonald schools. He was also involved in athletic programs at the schools.
The board also accepted a donation of 180 from the McDonald Sideliners Club to send athletes to a weightlifting competition in Columbiana.
The board has set the 2007-08 school calendar from Aug. 27 to June 3.
Lauren Hake was hired by the board on an as-needed basis at 17 an hour effective March 1 as an Intervention Program instructor for the elementary after-school program. Also hired was Jacira Savish as an English Second Language Intervention instructor as needed at 17 an hour effective March 1.
