Foundation takes grant applications

YOUNGSTOWN -- The International Institute Foundation is accepting grant applications for the 2007 grant cycle.
Applicants must be an IRS 501 (c)(3) tax exempt, nonprofit organization in the Youngstown area and meet specific guidelines set forth on the application as well as provide a proposed budget.
Guidelines state that grant applicants must submit a request for funding a project which promotes the needs of and interest in understanding the foreign-born, preserving and encouraging the development of values and culture of the local ethnic communities through education, social service or arts programs and or promotion of English as a second language to the foreign-born.
Most grants are for partial funding.
Eligible applicants may call Kathleen Brown at Butler Wick Trust Co., at (330) 743-7000, Ext. 293, or e-mail brownk@butlerwick.com to request an application.
The deadline for applicants is May 1 and recipients will be notified at the end of May. Previous grant recipients will only be considered for funding in 2007 if the appropriate end-of-year materials were submitted by Dec. 31, 2006.
