EGG HUNTS Easter fun



Area Easter egg hunts and other holiday related activities as submitted to The Vindicator:
MAHONING COUNTY
Boardman: Children age 10 and younger are invited to the annual Easter egg hunt at Good Hope Lutheran Church at Southern Boulevard and Homestead Drive (two miles north of Southern Park Mall). It will be at 11 a.m. April 7. After the hunt, children and their families are invited to stay for a children's movie and refreshments. If questions, call the church office at (330) 782-8109.
Boardman: Calvary Assembly, 7580 Glenwood Ave., will host an indoor egg hunt at 11:30 a.m. March 31. The event is free. All children age 2-9 are welcome and must be accompanied by an adult. There will be free child identification kits and prizes. Sponsors are Chick-Fil-A, Wendy's, and dentists Drs. Robert Johnson and James Kozlow.
Campbell: An Easter egg hunt will be at 1 p.m. March 31 at Roosevelt Park, Struthers-Liberty Road. It is sponsored by the Optimist Club of East Suburban Youngstown, which services Lincoln Knolls, Campbell, Coitsville and Lowellville. The Easter Bunny will make a special appearance at 1:30 p.m. Children age 1 to 10 are urged to participate. Prizes will be awarded in four age groups.
Canfield: Yellow Duck Park, state Route 46 between Canfield and Columbiana, features "Holiday Bunny Trail," includeing scene of Last Supper, Tunnel of Love, Bunny Town; and children may register for an egg hunt. Drive through 7-9 p.m. Sunday-Thursday and 7-10 Friday and Saturday through April 7. Driver admission coupons are available at Burger King restaurants. www.yellowduckpark.com.
New Middletown: Free Methodist Community Church, 9900 Youngstown-Pittsburg Road, will hold an Easter egg hunt from 2 to 3 p.m. April 7. Arrive early to register for prizes. There also will be music, drama and refreshments. For children through grade six. The event is free.
Poland: Sunrise Assisted Living of Poland, 335 W. McKinley Way, will host an Easter egg hunt at 10 a.m. April 6. All children up to age 10 are invited for the fun. There will be candy, prizes, refreshments and pictures with the Easter Bunny.
Youngstown: Easter Eggstravaganza, 1 p.m. March 31 at Metro Assembly, 2530 South Ave., for age 2-11. Food basket for every family. (330) 782-2070.
Youngstown: Mill Creek MetroParks annual Easter Eggstravaganza will be at 11:30 a.m. March 31 at the Judge Morley Pavilion lawn in the Wick Recreation Area. This springtime favorite is for both the young and the young at heart. The egg hunt is for children age 4 to 10, and the Easter Bunny will visit a special hunt area for children 2 to 3 years old and their parents. An adult egg toss will take place after the hunt. Champion: Wildare United Methodist Church, 7211 N. Park Ave. Ext., will host an Easter egg hunt at 1 p.m. April 7. This event is open to children age 2 through fifth grade and is free. There will be a craft, story, egg hunt, games and prizes. For more information, call the church office at (330) 637-5000.
Cortland: Concord Care Center of Cortland, 4520 Sodom Hutchings Road, is planning its annual Easter Egg hunt from 9 to 11 a.m. March 31. The event will include a coloring contest, egg hunt and a visit from the Easter Bunny. Children 12 and younger may participate. Refreshments will be served. Those planning to participate are asked to make a reservation by March 26 by calling Marianne or Dave at (330) 637-7906.
Fowler: 19th annual Easter egg hunt at noon March 31 at Fowler Fire Station for Fowler residents age 12 and under. Sponsored by Fowler Fire Dept. Inc.
Fowler: Concord Care Center of Hartford, 3090 Five Points Hartford Road, is planning its annual Easter egg hunt from noon to 2 p.m. March 31. The event will include a coloring contest, egg hunt and a visit from the Easter Bunny. Children 12 and younger may participate. Refreshments will be served. Girard: Girard Parks and Recreation Department is sponsoring an Easter egg hunt at 3 p.m. April 7 at Tod Park for children age 2 through 9 who reside in Girard.
Girard: Kids on the ROCK children's ministry is hosting a free Easter egg hunt and fun day at Liberty Assembly of God, 6779 Belmont Ave., from 1 to 3 p.m. March 31. There will be games, a coloring contest, an indoor egg hunt, crafts, food and prizes. Meet our puppets, Freddie, Jeanie Mae and Oogene and enjoy music and hear about the Easter story. Warren: A community Easter egg hunt will take place at 1 p.m. April 9 at Alliance Community Outreach Program Center, 2051 Niles Road S.E. This event is free and open to children under age 12. This is the ninth annual Easter egg hunt sponsored by Trumbull County Children Services and ACOP with egg and candy donations received from the local community. Children also will receive prizes. There is no rain date for this event.
COLUMBIANA COUNTY
Columbiana: An Easter Eggstravaganza will take place at 10 a.m. March 31 at Firestone Park. The event is free and open to all families with children age 12 and under. Activities will include an egg hunt, craft project, refreshments, an Easter skit and great prizes. The event is co-sponsored by New Creation Fellowship and Heartland Christian School.
Salem: Salem Community Center will host "Lunch with the Easter Bunny" at noon March 31. Families will have lunch by the Catered Affair, meet the Easter Bunny, and complete a craft project. The cost for children age 1 through 12 is 6.50, and the cost for adults is 7.50. Reservations are nonrefundable. Children must be accompanied by a paying adult. MERCER COUNTY
Sharon, Pa.: 19th annual Ukrainian Egg Festival from 1 to 4 p.m. April 1 at Billy's Black and Gold, 514 Sharpsville Ave. There will be hundreds of decorated eggs, a Chinese auction, learn to paint an egg Ukrainian style, bakery, outstanding European foods for eat-in or carryout. Free admission.
