Greek Independence Day parade in Warren Sunday

WARREN — The seventh annual Greek Independence Day Parade will begin at St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church on Sunday and end at city hall, where a Greek flag will be raised and a short ceremony held.

U.S. Rep. Zack Space of Dover, Ohio, D-18th, is the grand marshal, and Jim Graham, president of United Autoworkers Local 1112, will be the master of ceremonies.

The parade marks a dual holiday for those of Greek Heritage. Both the Greek Revolution (1821) and the Feast of the Annunciation took place on March 25.

The parade begins at 12:15 p.m. at the church, 429 High St.
