Youngstown woman hit by stray bullet

YOUNGSTOWN — A city woman was in serious condition late tonight at St. Elizabeth Health Center after she was hit by a stray bullet Friday morning.

Maria Torres, 48, of Ayers Street, was driving with her husband on the 1000 block of Belmont Avenue at 12:10 a.m. when she was hit in the neck by a single bullet, police reports say. Neither Torres nor her husband saw anyone fire a gun before they sped off to the hospital.
