NBA ROUNDUP Wednesday's other games
Heat 91, Hawks 83
ATLANTA -- Jason Williams had 21 points and eight assists, and the Miami Heat beat the Atlanta Hawks for their 10th victory in 11 games. Josh Smith scored 27 points for Atlanta, which had its five-game home winning streak snapped. Williams had eight of Miami's last 12 points, including a 19-footer he banked in against Josh Childress that pushed the lead to 85-80 with 1:03 remaining. On the previous possession, Childress stole Williams' errant pass and hit two free throws that brought the Hawks within three. Atlanta, which has lost three of four overall, never led. Shaquille O'Neal, who had 12 points and three rebounds, picked up his fourth foul 16 seconds into the third quarter and didn't return until the start of the fourth. He played just 21 minutes. Eddie Jones finished with 14 points, including a pair of free throws that made it 89-80. James Posey, Udonis Haslem and reserve center Michael Doleac scored 10 points apiece. With O'Neal in foul trouble most of the game, the Heat used Doleac for 21 minutes, the most he has played since Jan. 30. Alonzo Mourning, Miami's backup center, missed the game with a right knee contusion.
Raptors 92, Magic 85
TORONTO -- Chris Bosh had 34 points and 16 rebounds in outplaying fellow All-Star big man Dwight Howard in the Toronto's victory over the Magic. T.J. Ford had 16 points and 12 assists for the Atlantic Division-leading Raptors, who moved six games ahead of New Jersey. Toronto ended a two-game losing skid despite missing No. 1 pick Andrea Bargnani, who had an appendectomy earlier in the day and remains hospitalized. There is no timetable for his return. Bosh went 10-for-21 from the field and 14-for-16 from the line. Grant Hill had 24 points and Howard had 17 points and 12 rebounds for the Magic, who haven't won consecutive games since Jan. 31 and Feb. 2.
Spurs 90, Pacers 72
SAN ANTONIO -- Tim Duncan scored 27 points to lead San Antonio over the slumping Indiana Pacers. The Spurs, who have clinched a playoff spot, snapped a two-game losing streak that came after they had won a season-high 13 in a row. Francisco Elson had 14 points and Tony Parker and Matt Bonner contributed 10 apiece. Ike Diogu led the Pacers with 14 points. Mike Dunleavy scored 11 and Jermaine O'Neal and Troy Murphy each added 10. The Pacers snapped an 11-game losing streak with a home victory over Atlanta on Saturday, but have since lost two in a row as they struggle for a spot in the playoffs.
Bobcats 92, Celtics 84
BOSTON -- Raymond Felton had 19 points, five assists and three steals on Wednesday night, and the Bobcats used a 19-0 run to overcome a double-digit deficit for the second consecutive night and beat Boston. One night after coming back from a 10-point, fourth-quarter deficit to beat the Cleveland Cavaliers in overtime, the Bobcats erased Boston's 69-51, third-quarter lead. The victory wasn't entirely unwelcome for the Celtics, who have the second-worst record in the NBA -- 51/2 games behind Charlotte in the race to possibly draft Greg Oden or Kevin Durant. Paul Pierce scored 23 despite sitting out the entire fourth quarter after opening a cut on the inside of his mouth.
Clippers 104, Bucks 103
MILWAUKEE -- Elton Brand tipped in a shot with 3 seconds left to give Los Angeles a victory over Milwaukee. Jason Hart missed a shot along the baseline that bounced on the side of the rim before Brand tipped it in. Corey Maggette scored 22 points and Brand had 21 points and eight rebounds for Los Angeles, which moved into the No. 8 spot in the Western Conference.
