Clerks' misdeeds reflected in court audit


WARREN — A special state audit of Warren Municipal Court makes findings for financial recovery totaling $40,377 in the court’s favor, based on misdeeds of two former court clerks.   The clerks’ criminal cases have already made their way through Trumbull County Common Pleas Court:

• Last August, Judith M. DeJacimo, a former deputy clerk in the civil division, pleaded guilty to theft in office. She had worked for the court for 13 years.   DeJacimo, 49, of Glen Drive, lost her job on Dec., 7, 2005.   On Jan. 24,   DeJacimo was sentenced to 18 months in prison and ordered to pay full restitution and audit costs. According to her indictment, DeJacimo took cash paid to the court for filing fees, costs and other obligations.

• Another former traffic division clerk, Sandra McCready, 40, of Elm Road,   lost her job Jan. 26, 2006.   On May 11, 2006, McCready pleaded guilty to a charge of theft-in-office.   On July 6, 2006, she was sentenced to three years probation, 30 days house arrest, and 200 hours of community service.     McCready was also ordered to pay court costs, full restitution, and a portion of the audit costs.
