A summary of recent criminal activity in Poland and Boardman:

POLAND

June 22

Arrest: A traffic stop near state Route 170 and Hamilton Avenue led to a 27-year-old Boardman man’s arrest when police discovered he was wanted on a felony warrant from the county.

June 21

Drugs: Police made two drug- and weapons-related arrests after pulling over a car near Midlothian and Sunset boulevards. Facing felony charges of aggravated trafficking in marijuana, carrying concealed weapons and receiving stolen property were two Youngstown men, 18 and 24, when, authorities said, several bags of suspected marijuana packaged for sale as well as a stolen 9 mm semiautomatic handgun were found.

Criminal damaging: A 10-year-old Boardman boy was arrested at his home on a criminal-damaging charge after a Brookfield Avenue man reported two American flags were burned.

Theft: Cash and checks were taken from a box at the Center for Behavioral Health, 725 Boardman-Canfield Road.

Theft: A Wolosyn Circle woman reported the theft of 20 compact discs from her vehicle.

Criminal mischief: An Applecrest Court woman found shards of glass next to her car’s four tires.

Arrest: Police picked up a 30-year-old Youngstown woman in the city on warrants from Boardman charging her with forgery and criminal simulation as well as a separate charge of receiving stolen property. A worker for Cigarette Outlet, 6009 South Ave., said he unwittingly cashed four checks totaling $1,393 that turned out to be counterfeit.

Arrest: Police, with the help of the U.S. Marshals Service, took into custody a Campbell woman, 53, on a felony charge of larceny after an elderly West Glen Drive woman discovered more than $26,000 worth of jewelry missing from a dresser.

Arrest: Boardman police and U.S. Marshals arrested a 49-year-old Youngstown woman at her residence on felony charges of criminal simulation and forgery. She was accused of passing a counterfeit $751.28 check at Cigarette Outlet.

Burglary: A Market Street woman reported someone broke a window, entered her home and took $3,000.

Criminal mischief: A Forest Glen Drive man found two dents, a cracked windshield and a chipped window on his car.

Theft: A Forest Garden Drive man reported two floor mats, seat covers, eight CDs and a fishing knife stolen from his vehicle.

Theft: A $700 item was stolen from a vehicle while its owner shopped at Wal-Mart, 1300 Doral Drive.

Criminal mischief: A Youngstown man told police two people reached into his car while he was in the 1900 block of Wolosyn Circle.

Theft: A motorist pumped $30 worth of gasoline and left a Shell station, 7598 Market St., without paying.

June 22

Burglary: A man in the 6700 block of Tippecanoe Road found out his condominium had been entered through a second-floor door. Stolen was about $13,500 worth of men’s jewelry as well as $500.

Robbery: An employee with Dollar General, 859 E. Midlothian Blvd., told authorities a man grabbed and shoved him before fleeing with five stolen packs of batteries. The worker was not injured.

Arrest: A Youngstown man, 21, was charged with criminal trespassing and disorderly conduct after returning to a Glenwood Avenue apartment to retrieve his property. He also faced an additional charge of illegal conveyance of a deadly weapon when, authorities say, a gun clip was found in his possession after he was taken to the Mahoning County Jail.

Theft: An Austintown woman, 19, and a Youngstown woman, 20, were charged with theft after a pair of sandals and four articles of clothing were stolen from the J.C. Penney store in the Southern Park Mall. The theft came to $93.

Theft: A Youngstown woman at Fancy Nails, 1295 Boardman-Poland Road, noticed a set of car and house keys missing.

Domestic violence: Officers took a 40-year-old Struthers man into custody on a domestic violence charge after a Wolosyn Circle woman alleged the man pushed the accuser and kicked her in the stomach.

Weapons: A traffic stop on Market Street resulted in the arrests of a Boardman man, 32, and a Columbiana man, 43, on charges of carrying concealed weapons. A knife and a wooden club were found in the vehicle’s front seat, police said.

Robbery: Two people told police a gunman wearing thick-rimmed glasses, a blue ballcap and a striped shirt stole an undisclosed amount of money from Cash Connection, 18 Boardman-Poland Road, before fleeing on foot.

June 23

Criminal damaging: A 14-year-old Campbell boy was charged after a Boardman man reported someone tossed rocks and struck the rear of his car as he drove on Eisenhower Drive.

Criminal damaging: A key was used to damage a car’s finish in the 1300 block of Red Tail Hawk Drive.

Theft: A 14-year-old Salem girl was arrested at Value City Department Store, 1130 Boardman-Poland Road, where she was accused of concealing $12 worth of clothing.

Theft: A man reported five DVDs stolen while at Walgreen’s Pharmacy, 525 E. Midlothian Blvd.

Theft: A Warren man came out of St. Charles Church, 7345 Westview Drive, and discovered a $400 global positioning system device had been stolen.

Theft: A driver pumped and failed to pay for $40.86 worth of gasoline before leaving a Shell station, 1510 Boardman-Canfield Road.

Possible theft: A front license plate was missing from a car in the 4300 block of Devonshire Drive.

Auto theft: A woman reported her 1997 Chrysler Concorde stolen while at the Southern Park Mall.

Theft: Five DVDs valued at $107 were removed from Sam’s Club, 6361 South Ave.

Arson/criminal damaging: A man reported a fire in a trash bin near Natural Health Foods & Barbell Center, 6981 Market St. Also, a wall had spray-paint damage.

June 24

Aggravated menacing: An 18-year-old Poland man surrendered to police after they investigated a possible domestic situation at a Forest Ridge Drive residence. A woman there told officers her former boyfriend implied over the phone that he might kill her and her baby.

Drug paraphernalia: A McDonald man, 25, was arrested near Salt Springs Road. He was wanted on charges of possession of drug-abuse instruments and drug paraphernalia after police investigated a possible heroin overdose at a Boardman apartment.

Arrest: While investigating a suspicious person in the 100 block of Beechwood Drive, authorities arrested a 24-year-old Southern Boulevard man after finding out he was wanted on charges of theft and receiving stolen property. He also was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia when, police say, he had two suspected crack pipes.

Domestic violence: After questioning a suspicious person, police apprehended the 55-year-old Boardman man in a yard in the 8400 block of Crystal Drive after saying he led them on a 10-minute foot chase. He was charged with domestic violence, resisting arrest and obstructing official business; earlier, a woman reported her boyfriend had punched her in the face several times.

Theft: A customer left IHOP, 833 Boardman-Poland Road, and failed to pay a $25.61 food bill.

Vandalism: Someone damaged two spray arms and a computer at Boardman Super Wash, 4030 South Ave. Damage was estimated at $2,000.

Theft: A woman reported an AM-FM-CD stereo missing from her car in the 800 block of Cook Avenue.

Theft: A customer left IHOP without paying a $62.44 food bill.
