Tuesday, June 26, 2007

NEW CASTLE, Pa. — A bus transporting mentally challenged youngsters got caught in the crossfire of a turf war in one of the city’s public housing projects.

No one was injured, but the bus driver had to be taken to Jameson Memorial Hospital after suffering chest pains.

Police have arrested one man and have identified a second suspect. A third shooter had not been identified by police on Tuesday afternoon.

Police Chief Tom Sansone said the shooting stemmed from an ongoing turf war between some New Castle natives and people from Mississippi.
