Awards and achievements that have been announced recently:

YOUNGSTOWN — The Regional Chamber has received a 2007 Team NEO Economic Development Impact Award in the new job creation category. The award was presented for the chamber’s work in spearheading efforts to attract Leedsworld. The company plans to create 485 jobs in the Warren Commerce Park.

WARREN — Trudy Mickey, an agent with Coldwell Banker First Place Real Estate, received the Walter Graham Civic Award from the Warren Area Board of Realtors. This award is presented annually to a local real estate agent who has volunteered to make a difference in the community. Mickey has been a volunteer with community organizations such as Cub Scouts, Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts and Parent/Teacher Organizations. She has been president of the Cortland Jaycee Women’s Organization and Buckeye Tole Association. She also taught painting and craft projects to school children, at nursing homes and to church clubs. She has served as a director on the board of directors of the Warren Area Board of Realtors and has served on the nominating and education committee and as a chairman for the Realtors Political Action Committee. She has promoted the organization through her work with American Home Week and Toys for Tots events.

BOARDMAN — Kim Brauer of Boardman has been admitted to the “Top Tier Club” for Marian Health Greeting Cards at an awards banquet held in Boston. The club recognizes the top 5 percent of sales representatives in the country. The award is given based on outstanding achievement in sales growth, account acquisition and customer care for 2006. Brauer is a manufacturer’s representative with The M&M Sales Co, which is based in Columbus.

POLAND — Jim Hetherington of Bethany, Okla., formerly of Poland, received an Unsung Hero award at the Oklahoma state conference of the National Alliance on Mental Illness. He has been a mental health volunteer for 28 years. He worked for the Federal Aviation Administration as an air traffic controller and education specialist, retiring in 1990.

HUBBARD — Lisa Stamford, a branch office administrator at the Edward Jones branch office of Mike Holdford in Hubbard, has been honored for her client service. The recognition by Edward Jones earned her an invitation to the company’s inaugural Branch Office Administrators Managing Partner’s Conference in St. Louis in September.
