Brothers nabbed for drugs after traffic stop


BOARDMAN — Two Youngstown brothers are in the Mahoning County Justice Center after police stopped their car and found suspected drugs inside. Kevin Jusino, 24, and Carlos Jusino, 18, both of Brownlee Avenue, were each charged with aggravated trafficking, carrying a concealed weapon and receiving stolen property.

A police officer on patrol stopped the car both were traveling in about 8:30 p.m. Thursday on Midlothian Boulevard after witnessing a traffic violation. Kevin Jusino was driving with Carlos in the passenger seat.   There were three back seat passengers as well.

When a second police officer approached the passenger side of the car, he saw Carlos try to put a plastic bag of suspected marijuana into the glove compartment, a police report says. Police directed all of the people to get out of the car. When they searched inside, officers found a loaded semi-automatic handgun under the front seat. The gun had been entered stolen from Youngstown.

Under the driver’s seat, police found a plastic bag with suspected marijuana and suspected Ecstacy pills and a liquid prescription bottle. On the front seat, they found plastic bags used for packaging and a small bag of suspected marijuana individually packaged for sale. Both brothers are to appear in Mahoning County Court on Tuesday.
