Bicyclist hospitalized after crash

YOUNGSTOWN — Adam Hixson, 18, of West Myrtle Avenue was in satisfactory condition in St. Elizabeth Health Center this morning with injuries he received after riding his bicycle into the side of a van at Mahoning and Glenellen avenues.

Police said Hixson was eastbound on the sidewalk along Mahoning and tried to cross Glenellen before the van exiting Glenellen could make its turn onto Mahoning.

His bicycle left 19 feet of skid marks.
