Search continues today for pregnant Ohio woman

UNIONTOWN, Ohio (AP) — A volunteer group planned to renew efforts to find a missing pregnant woman, using community helpers, sonar equipment and a 2 1/2-pound drone airplane equipped with a camera in the nose to search rural areas around her home.

About an hour before the search was to begin early today, volunteers with Texas Equusearch gathered outside a fire station about a mile north of Jessie Davis’ home in Lake Township in northeast Ohio.

Near a sign that read, “Pray for Jessie,” bottles of water and coffee and doughnuts donated by local businesses were brought in while searchers assembled at the Greentown Fire Dept. in Uniontown.

Lanny Griffin, 56, of Canton, said he’s hopeful that they can find Davis and bring her home safely.

Jessie Davis, who was due to deliver her baby July 3, was last heard from in a telephone call with her mother, Patricia Porter, on June 13.
