Save-A-Lot now open in Niles

NILES — A Save-A-Lot grocery store opened in the Great East Plaza with an emphasis on fresh produce.

The new store, which opened Wednesday, features a larger produce section than other area Save-A-Lot stores because the chain is emphasizing fresh fruits and vegetables, said Henry Nemenz Jr., one of the owners of the local store.

“Produce is a big reason why people shop at a grocery store,” he said.

The store opened in the former location that had been occupied by the Flea-Mor flea market and Best Products.
