Beaver Township fire chief to retire

NORTH LIMA — Beaver Township trustees are initiating a search for a new fire chief. Fire Chief Gary Borman told township officials he intends to retire sometime this year, though he hasn’t yet announced a specific date. The trustees said they will accept applications and resumes and begin narrowing the field as soon as possible. Borman began his career with the township fire department more than 20 years ago. He become the township’s first full-time fire chief Aug. 1, 2000, after serving in that capacity on a part-time basis for three years.
