June 13

Theft/criminal damaging: A Leetonia woman found her vehicle’s window had been smashed and dashboard damaged at the Southern Park Mall. Stolen was a compact disc player and 50 CDs.

Criminal damaging: A Squirrel Hill Drive man reported vehicle damage.

Domestic violence: Police arrested a 29-year-old Tracy Drive man on a domestic violence charge after his wife alleged he pushed and shook her, causing her to strike the headboard of a bed.

Vandalism: A 16-year-old Youngstown boy faced a felony charge of vandalism when, police said, he admitted damaging several microphone wires in a ticket booth at Tinsletown USA, 7401 Market St.

Breaking and entering: Someone pried open a front door to a home in the 4500 block of Euclid Boulevard before removing an undetermined amount of copper piping.

Arrest: Police responded to a report of suspicious activity near Euclid Boulevard and Canterbury Lane, where they arrested a 15-year-old Youngstown boy on charges of obstructing official business, disorderly conduct and resisting arrest. The teen exhibited threatening behavior toward officers, they said.

Bad checks: A Youngstown woman, 31, was taken into custody on a felony charge from Boardman accusing her of passing bad checks.

Assault: An elderly Mapleton, Ga., man was not injured after he reported being assaulted at the Southern Park Mall.

Theft: An Ellwood City, Pa., girl, 17, and an 18-year-old Darlington, Pa., woman faced theft charges after $58 worth of clothing was stolen from Value City Department Store, 1130 Boardman-Poland Road.

Theft/criminal damaging: An Austintown man returned to his car at Audio Overdrive, 5326 Market St., and discovered a driver’s-side window smashed as well as two boxes of speakers, two TVs and an amplifier stolen.

Theft: A woman, 19, and a 33-year-old man, both from Deland, Fla., were charged with theft after being accused of taking $240 worth of men’s clothing from Kohl’s, 383 Boardman-Poland Road.

June 14

Burglary: A woman noticed $160 stolen from her Boardman Boulevard apartment after someone entered through the front door.

Attempted felonious assault: A Bonnie Place woman reported being a victim.

Assault: A woman told police her son, 16, was assaulted at Antone’s Banquet Centre & Gourmet Catering, 8578 Market St. The youngster was not hurt, however.

Theft: A rear license plate was stolen off a truck belonging to Komar Plumbing Inc., 49 Roche Way.

Theft: A woman discovered a cell phone, a pair of sunglasses and a wallet missing from her vehicle while at Family Dollar, 4028 Market St.

Theft: A 49-year-old Youngstown man was charged after five cologne sets were stolen from Sears in the Southern Park Mall.

Theft: An $849 set of earrings was stolen from a Squirrel Hill Drive residence.

Aggravated menacing: Police answered a report of an argument between two drivers in the 1100 block of Boardman-Canfield Road, where a Canfield man reported the other motorist showed him a metal pipe and threatened to harm him. The other driver reported being threatened, too.

Theft: Police arrested a 46-year-old Youngstown man on a theft charge after a $40 tool kit was taken from Sears.

Arrest: After responding to a theft at Boardman Sparkle Market, 6315 Market St., officers took a Boardman man, 27, into custody at his home nearby, and he was charged with assault on a police officer, vandalism, theft, resisting arrest and obstructing official business. The man kicked an officer in the chest and damaged a cruiser, police said.

Arrest: A 50-year-old West Middlesex, Pa., man was charged with obstructing official business after being pulled over near U.S. Route 224 and California Avenue. He assumed a family member’s name as his own, and also was wanted on two warrants, authorities said.

Criminal damaging: A worker at Greenbriar Healthcare Center, 8064 South Ave., realized someone used a key to damage her vehicle’s hood's finish. Damage was estimated at $1,000.

June 15

Theft: A 24-year-old New Castle, Pa., woman faced a theft charge after two bottles of cologne valued at $87.50 were stolen from Sears. She also was charged with possession of criminal tools when, police said, a 5-inch knife was in her purse.

Theft: Two Warren men, 18 and 19, faced a felony charge of complicity to theft and theft, respectively, after 19 CDs and DVDs were taken from Sears.

Theft: A woman reported the theft of a debit card from her home in the 7100 block of Glendale Avenue, and that it was used at several locations.

Theft: A Pennsylvania license plate was removed from a vehicle at Wendy’s, 433 Boardman-Poland Road.

Theft: An employee with Wal-Mart, 1300 Doral Drive, discovered a $500 MP3 player stolen from her car.

Arrest: Police picked up a 36-year-old Shields Road man at his residence. He was wanted on a felony warrant from Trumbull County charging him with probation violation.

Theft: A Youngstown man, 23, was arrested at the Mahoning County Jail on a warrant from Boardman charging him with theft. The man was accused of removing a digital memory card from its package at Best Buy, 561 Boardman-Poland Road.

June 16

Stolen property: Charges of receiving stolen property were pending against two 14-year-old Youngstown girls. The two were in possession of candy that had been stolen from a damaged vending machine at the Southern Park Mall, police said.

Theft: Authorities took into custody a 23-year-old Niles woman and charged her with theft after six articles of clothing each were stolen from the JCPenney store and Macy’s, both in the Southern Park Mall. The loss came to about $363.

Domestic violence: A man, 44, was arrested in Canfield and charged after his girlfriend, of Old Oxford Lane, alleged he punched her in the cheek and spit on her during an argument.

Arrest: A traffic stop near Judson Avenue and Hillman Way led to a 21-year-old Youngstown man’s arrest when, police say, he provided a false name. He was charged with obstructing official business.

Theft: A 15-year-old Youngstown boy was charged after a $20 pair of men’s shoes was stolen from Payless Shoesource in the Southern Park Mall.

Theft: Officers charged a 15-year-old Farrell, Pa., girl accused of stealing three articles of clothing valued at $89 from the JCPenney store.

Vandalism: Several vehicles’ hoods were damaged with a key at Southwood Auto Sales, 5334 South Ave.

Auto theft: A worker for Saturn of Boardman, 7554 Market St., reported the theft of a 1995 Chevrolet Blazer.

June 17

Arrest: A 19-year-old Boardman man was apprehended near West Boulevard after officers got a report of someone breaking into a vehicle at an apartment complex nearby. He faced one count each of theft from auto, possession of criminal tools, criminal damaging and carrying a concealed weapon when, police said, he had a knife.

Attempted burglary: Someone tried to enter an apartment in the 6000 block of Applecrest Court.

Theft: A Fawn Drive man reported a $200 satellite radio stolen from his vehicle.

Arrest: After responding to a report of an intoxicated person outside of a Firnley Avenue home, officers arrested a 58-year-old man on charges of menacing, resisting arrest and disorderly conduct. He refused to cooperate with police and caused a scene, authorities said.

Theft: An elderly Southern Boulevard man reported $80 stolen from him.

Theft: Two people reported an $11,000 women’s engagement/wedding ring and $20 stolen from a Pheasant Court home.
