WARREN — Police are still seeking two men who abducted a 3-year-old boy at gunpoint Saturday afternoon on Feederle Drive Southeast. Shortly after the boy’s father, David Williamson of Transylvania Avenue Southeast, called police at about 2:30 p.m. to say that two of the boy’s uncles had taken the boy, police stopped a vehicle containing the boy, a woman and two men at the intersection of Todd Avenue and Fifth Street, and the men fled. The boy was still in his car seat and was OK. He was returned to his father. The woman, who cooperated with police, was not arrested. Officers chased the men and thought they had gone into a house near the traffic stop, but they were not found. Police said they didn’t know of a motive for taking the boy.
Public forum planned
GIRARD — School officials will hold a public forum from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday in the board of education offices on Prospect Street. The community is invited to meet with school officials and the architect working on the new junior/senior high school facility and provide input on the building project.
Sobriety checkpoint

A sobriety checkpoint will be conducted at an undisclosed location in Mahoning County from 8:30 p.m. Friday to 12:30 a.m. Saturday.The Mahoning County Operating a Vehicle Impaired Task Force will be enforcing a zero-tolerance policy for impaired drivers and those in violation of seat-belt laws.
Training for block watch

WARREN — The city police department, in cooperation with the Community Safe Initiative, will hold in-service training for representatives of the Block Watch Neighborhood Association. Motorcycle night run
WARREN — The Summit Lounge, 1010 Tod Ave. N.W., will have a Motorcycle Night Run at 3 p.m. Saturday to benefit the Someplace Safe, Inc. shelter in Warren. Sign-in begins at 3 p.m., with the first motorcycle out at 5 p.m. The run will end at 10 p.m. Cost is $10 per solo rider and $15 per couple.
