AUBURN HILLS, Mich. — Tamika Catchings had 26 points and 14 rebounds while Tammy Sutton-Brown added 17 points as Indiana ended Detroit’s perfect start. The loss dropped the Shock to 7-1 . Catchings was 5-of-10 from the floor, and hit 14 of her season-high 16 free-throw attempts for Indiana (9-2). K.B. Sharp had 13 points off the bench, including three 3-pointers. She entered the game with only one 3-pointer this season. Deanna Nolan and Katie Feenstra had 14 points each for Detroit, but no other player reached double figures.

Lynx 83, Sparks 58

MINNEAPOLIS — Kristen Mann scored 16 points and matched a career-best with four 3-pointers, and Minnesota won consecutive games for the first time this season. Minnesota, which started 1-9, snapped the Sparks’ three-game winning streak. LaToya Thomas led the Sparks with 13 points, but playing back-to-back road games, the team seemed to tire down the stretch. Nicole Ohlde scored 15 points and Svetlana Abrosimova had 14 for Minnesota. Seimone Augustus finished with 12 points, and hit a jumper in the paint with four minutes left in the second quarter, putting her over 1,000 points for her career.

Silver Stars 79, Liberty 71

SAN ANTONIO — San Antonio’s Becky Hammon scored 22 points and had seven assists in her first game against her former team. Hammon was traded in the offseason after eight years and three All-Star appearances in New York. She’s having a career season in San Antonio. She’s the fifth-leading scorer in the WNBA and leads in assists. Sophia Young added 21 points for the Silver Stars and Erin Buescher had 16.
