Summers’ arm leads Action Therapy to win


Wharmby Sports, Livi Steel and Simon Roofing also had Class B wins.

STRUTHERS — Jarryd Summers scattered six hits with as many strikeouts as Action Physical Therapy knocked off Rondinelli Tuxedo 4-1, in a Class B League game Saturday at Cene Park.

Summers (3-0) walked just one, while Bryan Tobias had a triple and a single, and drove home two runs in a three-run fourth inning for Action (7-8). Josh Fyffe added two hits for the winners.

Tony Brunetti tripled for Rondinelli (12-3).

Simon Roofing 6

Winning pitcher Mike Conglose led off the bottom of the seventh inning with a double, and after an intentional walk, Mark Babyak singled home Conglose with the winning run for Wharmby Sports (7-8).

Cory Johnson had three hits and four RBIs while Todd Finn, T.J. Stoian and Tyler Womer added two hits each for the winners. Conglose went two innings for the victory.

Rich Tisone, Matt Durkin and Roberto Morales had two hits each for Simon Roofing (5-11).

Livi Steel 2, Roth Brothers 1

Taylor Englebaugh tripled to lead off the bottom of the sixth and scored the winning run on a single by Mark Revesz as Livi Steel edged Roth Brothers Friday night.

Garrett Malloy and Jae Leeworthy had two singles each for Livi (8-6) while Justin Prejsnar outdueled Jonathan Rhoads on the mound. Presjnar had two strikeouts while Rhoads had seven strikeouts for Roth (3-12).

Pat Muligan doubled home the Roth run.

Action Physical Therapy 3

Ryan Gruszecki (1-2) earned his first victory of the summer and leadoff hitter Ross Revella reached base four times.

Matt Durkin went 3-for-3 with two RBIs for Simon.

Summers doubled for APT.

Youngstown Class AA

YOUNGSTOWN — Josh Conkey (2-0) worked five innings, allowed only three hits and struck out four to lead Roth Brothers over Hickory, 10-0.

Mike Sikorski hit two doubles and scored twice for Roth Brothers (9-0). Jim Putko hit three singles and drove in three runs. Mark Nightingale hit two singles and drove in three runs and Eric Barone hit a double and drove in three runs.

Warren Class AA

WARREN — Mike Swoboda scattered seven hits and struck out four in a complete-game effort to lead Callahan’s Irish Pub over PI&I Express, 3-1.

Josh Miller hit a double and single, and drove in two runs for Callahan’s. Anthony Maruca also had two hits, including a double, and T.J. Trevis hit a pair of singles.

Dave Patrick and Tom Senich had three hits each for PI&I.

Champion Marlins 6,
Girard Hardware 2

Ryan Romack had a double and Mark Jackson earned the win for Champion Marlins, which led 5-0 after three innings.

Mahoning Valley Knights 6,
Skiffey Neopolitan Dental 1

Anthony Rathman-Noon struck out seven in six innings and allowed three hits for the Knights.

Ryan Monti tripled to lead the Knights while Brian Daugherty doubled.

Jim Skiffey hit a two-bagger for Skiffey.
