Sobriety checkpoint brings one arrest

NORTH JACKSON — A sobriety checkpoint netted one arrest for operating a vehicle while impaired and 10 citations for safety belt violations. The checkpoint was conducted by the Mahoning County OVI Task Force on state Route 45 from 9 p.m. Friday through midnight.

Authorities saw 268 vehicles come through the checkpoint zone. Police from Jackson, Austintown, Boardman, Smith and Goshen townships, Canfield city, Lake Milton State Park and Youngstown State University participated.
