JUDGE MALONEY Chronology


December 1980: Elected president of Fraternal Order of Police Lodge 28.

May 1981: Promoted to detective.

January 1984: Named law clerk and research specialist for 7th District Court of Appeals.

July 1985: Passes the Ohio bar exam and enters private law practice.

November 1996: Easily defeats Nils Johnson Jr. to replace the retiring Mahoning County Probate Judge Leo P. Morley.

March 1998: Replaces two of three Mill Creek MetroParks commissioners.

November 2002: Wins re-election by fending off a challenge from Atty. Maureen A. Sweeney, who later became a general division common pleas judge.

September 2003: Wins a lawsuit against the county commissioners to get more money to run his court.

June 2007: Announces his retirement from the bench on or about Sept. 30.
