GIRARD

June 12

Domestic violence: A 31-year-old South State Street man was charged after his wife alleged he forcibly grabbed her car keys when she refused to let him drive her vehicle. The accuser also said her husband grabbed her by the hair and shoved her into a door; the woman had minor bleeding and marks, officers said.

Theft: A Girard man discovered rear taillights, a jack and a license plate missing from a boat trailer he had stored at Summit Supply, 1715 N. State St.

June 13

Criminal mischief: A man told officers that juveniles tossed eggs at his Hartzell Street home.

Arrest: While responding to several complaints of an unwanted person at a Beechwood Drive residence, police arrested a Girard woman, 40, after she was accused of screaming obscenities at neighbors. She was charged with disorderly conduct.

Assault/menacing: A worker for Indalex Inc., 706 S. State St., alleged a 45-year-old man grabbed the accuser by the throat and pinned him against the building before placing a knife against his throat.

Criminal damaging: A Park Avenue man found a slashed tire on his vehicle’s driver’s side.

Theft: An East Howard Street woman reported her son’s $120 bicycle stolen from the Girard Free Library, 105 E. Prospect Ave.

Criminal mischief: A Girard man driving on an alley near East Liberty Street told officers three juveniles threw crates of plastic soda cartons in front of his vehicle, and that one became lodged under his car, damaging a wheel well. Two of the youngsters admitted the crime, police said.

June 9

Forgery: An employee with Penguin Check Cashing, 3233 Belmont Ave., told authorities a 22-year-old Youngstown woman tried to cash a $4,750.45 check she claimed was from a Seattle health-care center, but that the center confirmed the check was counterfeit.

Robbery: A Girard woman told police a man in his late teens or early 20s wearing blue jeans and a baseball cap on a motorized vehicle threatened her with a knife and grabbed her purse as she returned to her vehicle at McDonald’s, 3630 Belmont Ave. Money and a wristwatch were stolen.

June 10

Drugs: A traffic stop near Belmont Avenue and state Route 304 resulted in a 47-year-old Youngstown woman’s arrest. She was charged with possession of drugs and operating a vehicle under the influence when, police say, they found a bag of suspected cocaine in a prescription bottle.

Menacing: A Hubbard woman and her two daughters told authorities a Hubbard man, 30, tried to run them off the road near Belmont Avenue and Tibbetts-Wick Road.

June 11

Theft: Someone pried open a vending machine and took an undisclosed amount of money near Cartronics, 3515 Belmont Ave.

Theft: A worker for the Liberty Inn, 1600 Motor Inn Drive, reported an undetermined amount of money stolen.

Criminal mischief: A Stonington Drive man reported someone removed a realty sign from his yard and replaced it with another.

Arrest: After pulling a driver over near Belmont and Liberty avenues, officers took into custody a 31-year-old Hubbard woman on charges of operating a vehicle under the influence, having an open container of alcohol in a motor vehicle and on a traffic violation.

HUBBARD

June 8

Vandalism: Eggs were tossed at vehicles in the 60 block of Parish Avenue.

Bad check: A $20 check passed at Hubbard Coal & Supply, 828 N. Main St., was returned for insufficient funds.

June 9

Theft: A Bentley Avenue woman accused a man of removing a certified mail notice from her mailbox and, without permission, signing the letter.

Theft: A man reported items missing while in the process of moving from an apartment in the 200 block of East Liberty Street.

June 10

Theft: A vending machine was broken into at Devine’s Shop ’n’ Save, 529 N. Main St.

Theft: A man in the 700 block of Jones Street found out stereo equipment was taken from his car.

June 12

Attempted breaking and entering: Two people discovered someone had tried to enter their Hillview Drive apartment. A door was damaged.

Criminal mischief: Someone damaged a concession stand at Jones Park in the township.
