1984: Word Of Life Christian Academy is founded. It eventually takes up residence in Believer’s Christian Fellowship church, in the former Morgandale Elementary School building on Schenley Avenue Northeast in Howland.
1998-99 school year: Enrollment reaches 225 pupils in elementary, junior high and high school.
Spring 2002: WOLCA school board members announce that the school will close at the end of the 2001-02 school year.
Fall 2002: School reopens in First Baptist Church of Howland location, at the intersection of East Market Street and Howland Wilson Road with 101 pupils in kindergarten through grade 8.
June 2007: With 36 pupils enrolled for 2007-08, WOLCA school board announces that the school will not reopen.
