Motorcyclist killed in Mercer County

SANDY LAKE, Pa. — The collision of a car and motorcycle proved fatal for the biker Wednesday afternoon.

James T. Saeler, 25, of Perry Highway, Fredonia, Pa., was not wearing a helmet when he collided with a Chevrolet Cavalier on state Route 173 at 2:30 p.m.

The car’s 18-year-old driver pulled into Saeler’s path from a stop sign at Plants Road, according to Pennsylvania State Police. She was released with minor injuries, reports said. Police said the investigation continues.
