Beaver trustees advertise for road repair bids

NORTH LIMA — Beaver Township trustees have agreed to advertise for bids for roadwork to be done this summer.

Bids for tarring, chipping and blacktopping are to be turned into the township administration office by noon July 10. Trustees intend to open the bids at 6 p.m., before the regular monthly meeting at 6:30 p.m. July 10.

The trustees accepted the resignations of two police officers. Reserve officer George E. Anderson resigned, effective May 31, to accept a full-time position with the Youngstown Police Department. Part-time officer Michael A. Goterba resigned, effective May 24 for personal reasons.

Trustees agreed to ask the Mahoning County auditor’s office to certify the total current tax valuation of the township for the upcoming renewal of the 1.5-mill fire and EMS levy that is to be placed on the general election ballot in November.
