Prison term looms after rape, kidnapping pleas

YOUNGSTOWN — A 20-year-old Brentwood Avenue man is facing a six- to 91-year prison term after pleading guilty to robbery, rape, kidnapping and felonious assault charges, with the prosecution recommending 18 years.

Ivory Young entered his pleas Wednesday before Judge R. Scott Krichbaum of Mahoning County Common Pleas Court, who will sentence him at 9:30 a.m. Aug. 15.

Two days before Christmas, Young dragged a woman by her pony tail from Glenwood Avenue, raped her and robbed her of $300 and two winning lottery tickets at gunpoint behind a discount store on her 21st birthday, said Dawn Krueger, assistant county prosecutor.
