Valley Sting 18U finished 6-4 to finish fourth out of 16 teams at the Ohio Best of the Best Tournament at Genshaft Park in Massillon, Ohio. Sting defeated Ohio Wolfpack (5-0), Ohio Ice–Philen (9-1), Rattlers (5-3), Ohio Ice–Sanor (8-0), Wolfpack Black (4-3) and Ohio Attack (4-0). Markie Pozzuto (Maplewood) picked up five wins and Tricia Bettura (Canfield) had the other victory. Sting’s offense was led by Allie Patton (Poland) with 16 hits and 13 runs scored, Bettura with 12 hits and six RBIs, Chelsea Butler (Lakeview) with 11 hits, Monica Shorter (Chardon) with 10 hits, and Trisha Dreslinski (Edgewood), Dar Bott (Lakeside), Jel Pugh (LaBrae) and Kari Thompson (Poland) all with nine hits.
