A summary of recent criminal activity in Boardman and Poland:

BOARDMAN

June 7

Theft: Two Youngstown women, 18 and 19, were charged with theft after $312 worth of clothing was stolen from Kohl’s, 383 Boardman-Poland Road.

Theft: A woman in the 4000 block of South Schenley Avenue discovered her car had been broken into and a $150 in-dash tape deck stolen.

Theft: Someone took $572 worth of women’s undergarments from Victoria’s Secret in the Southern Park Mall.

Theft: A Boardman couple reported a credit card, driver’s license and wallet stolen while at Antone’s Panninos & Pasta, 720 Boardman-Canfield Road.

Theft/criminal damaging: A Youngstown man reported his vehicle’s passenger-side window broken while at Labor Ready, 4338 Market St. Stolen were a $300 TV and 300 compact discs.

Theft: A Parkersburg, W.Va., man staying at the Microtel Inn, 7393 South Ave., reported roughly $900 missing from his room.

Arrest: While investigating a burglary at a South Avenue residence, authorities arrested a Youngstown man, 24, and charged him with disorderly conduct while intoxicated.

Stolen property: Police, along with the U.S. Marshals Task Force, went to a 20-year-old Youngstown woman’s residence, where she was taken into custody on a felony warrant from Boardman charging her with receiving stolen property.

Misuse of a credit card: A Woodrow Avenue woman discovered $75 worth of purchases were made without permission using her debit card.

Drugs: A traffic stop near Indianola Road resulted in a 22-year-old Youngstown man’s arrest on a felony count of trafficking in drugs. A plastic bag containing 10 individually wrapped bags of suspected marijuana were in his pocket, police said.

June 8

Theft: A Homestead Drive woman reported the theft of her husband’s 18-speed bicycle.

Breaking and entering: Someone entered a vacant Willow Drive building through a side door before taking from the basement about 1,000 feet of copper piping valued at $2,000.

Theft: A worker for Dollar General, 5953 South Ave., reported a few bank deposits were not taken to the bank per procedure.

Theft: A man left a Shell station, 1510 Boardman-Canfield Road, without paying for $43 worth of gasoline.

Theft: A Lowellville woman, 19, was charged with theft after being accused of taking three makeup kits from Wal-Mart, 1300 Doral Drive.

Theft: A 38-year-old Youngstown man was charged after three articles of clothing were stolen from TJ Maxx & More, 717 Boardman-Poland Road.

Theft: A woman returned to her vehicle while at First Place Bank, 3900 Market St., to discover her $50 cell phone missing.

Theft: A motorist failed to pay for $30.07 worth of gasoline before driving away from a BP station, 310 Boardman-Canfield Road.

Arrest: A 35-year-old man was picked up at his Mathews Road residence. He was wanted by Cuyahoga County authorities on one count of failure to appear in court to face a charge of failing to pay child support.

Bad check: A Boardman man, 37, was arrested at his home on a warrant charging him with passing a bad check. He was accused of using a $247.79 check at Aarons Sales and Lease Ownership, 101 Boardman-Canfield Road, that was later returned.

Theft: A portion of fence was missing from an Ohio Edison facility, 6415 Southern Blvd.

Bad check: Someone presented a bad $979.80 check to buy jewelry at Adamas Jewelry & Gifts, 8391 Market St.

Theft: A Youngstown woman, 28, faced a theft count after $90.92 worth of swimsuits was stolen from Wal-Mart.

Theft: Three finish nailers valued at a total of $1,117 were stolen from Lowe’s, 1100 Doral Drive.

Theft: A woman stole two 12-packs of beer and a package of tomatoes from Giant Eagle, 1201 Doral Drive.

June 9

Auto theft: A Poland man reported his 1997 Ford Explorer stolen while at Giant Eagle, 1201 Doral Drive.

Theft: An undisclosed amount of money was missing from Hey Bubba Inc. in the Southern Park Mall.

Theft: A woman told officers a $250 wireless device was removed from her Boardman-Canfield home without permission.

Recovered property: Police found a stolen 1991 Chevy Cavalier in the 5200 block of Pinetree Lane.

June 10

Theft: A Columbus man, 21, faced a theft charge after a men’s shirt and a belt were stolen from TJ Maxx & More.

Theft: A 15-year-old Boardman boy was picked up near Market Street and Shields Road and charged with theft. The teen was accused of stealing a $50 bicycle from a Terrace Drive residence.

Unauthorized use of a vehicle: A Berlin Center woman reported her 1998 Olds Alero was used without consent at a residence in the 4000 block of South Avenue.

Assault: A woman told police her daughter was assaulted in the 4200 block of Chester Drive. The victim had bruises on her head and face, and complained of pain on her right side.

Theft: Two money deposits were missing from a McDonald’s restaurant in the Southern Park Mall.

Aggravated menacing: A Youngstown man, 42, was arrested at Boardman Specialty Care, 5665 South Ave., and faced an aggravated-menacing charge after an employee reported being threatened.

Assault: A woman called police after her 8-year-old son was struck by a BB near their Aravesta Avenue home. The boy had a bruise on his arm and thigh.

Recovered property: Officers recovered at Dick’s Sporting Goods, 1280 Doral Drive, a stolen car with its engine running.

Theft: Someone pumped $35.24 worth of gasoline and left a Shell station, 1510 Boardman-Canfield Road, without paying.

Criminal mischief: A man in the 7400 block of Hitchcock Road reported damage to his mailbox.

POLAND

June 6

Arrest: After pulling over a driver near U.S. Route 224 and Ohio Avenue, police arrested a 34-year-old Youngstown man upon learning he was wanted in the city on a charge of failure to appear in court on one count of passing bad checks.

June 9

Theft: A man in his 30s driving a pickup truck pumped and failed to pay for gasoline before leaving a Shell station near state Route 170 and Sheridan Road.
