City man arrested for making threats at restaurant

YOUNGSTOWN —  Police said they arrested John A. Hill, 40, of West Boston Avenue after he admitted telling a South Side restaurant owner that he would rob the business.

The owner said Hill walked into East Wind Chinese Fast Food in the 2800 block of Market Street near 7:30 p.m., made the robbery threat and then threw some menus on the floor before leaving.

The threat caused two patrons to flee, the owner said. Hill was still in the parking lot when officers arrived, and he admitted making the threat, police said.

He was arrested on charges of attempted robbery and inducing panic and lodged in Mahoning County Jail pending arraignment Monday.
