The Northeast Ohio arm of the Constitution Party of Ohio will have an organizing meeting at 2 p.m. Saturday at 2520 South Avenue, Youngstown.
The Constitution Party has been around nationally since 1992 (although under a different name for much of that time, the U.S. Taxpayers Party), and the Ohio branch is just getting started, according to Alice Marshall, North East Ohio coordinator.
Among other things, the party wants a return to a constitutional, limited federal government, a repeal of the federal income tax, a non-interventionist foreign policy and an end to the war in Iraq.
Saturday's meeting is open to the public.
