West Side fire caused roof collapse, family had to move

YOUNGSTOWN — Occupants of a house at 129 N. Evanston Ave. had to make other living arrangements Wednesday after a fire caused part of the roof to collapse at their West Side home.

The fire at 12:30 p.m. started in a second-floor bedroom, the fire department said. The cause is under investigation. Damage to the house and contents was set at $23,000, a total loss.
