Weathersfield teachers, board approve new pact
MINERAL RIDGE — Weathersfield Board of Education approved a new three-year contract with its 70 teachers, which includes wage increases of 3 percent in the first year, 2 percent in the second year and 2 percent in the third year.
The new pact was ratified Tuesday by members of the Mineral Ridge Education Association. The school board approved the agreement in a special meeting today.
Negotiations began at the end of March.
Schools Superintendent Michael Hanshaw said negotiations “went very smoothly, with a lot of dialogue” between the two sides.
