Two men arrested, suspected of car break-ins

BOARDMAN — Police arrested two men, one of whom admitted to string of thefts from cars this year.

Joseph A. Rudolphi, 21, of Chambers Street, Campbell, is charged with two counts of receiving stolen property. Nicholas R. Lawrence, 21, of South Schenley Avenue, Youngstown, was charged with two counts of receiving stolen property, possession of criminal tools and felony theft.

On Friday afternoon, a police officer saw a vehicle that matched the description given of one used in committing car break-ins on Doral Drive. After pulling over the SUV, police saw a bent screwdriver and part from a car stereo lying on the driver’s seat.

When questioned, both men denied involvement in the thefts from vehicles, but during a later interview with Detective Glenn Patton, Lawrence said he had committed 100 thefts from vehicles since the beginning of the year.

Both men remain in the Mahoning County Jail and are set to appear in court Tuesday.
