Staff reunites with 75 alums of Forum's neonatal ICU

BOARDMAN — Weighing a mere 1 pound, 10 ounces, Kymberly Renae Hoffman was not expected to live when she came into the world 15 weeks early Jan. 18, 1991.

One of the tiniest babies born in the Neonatology Intensive Care Unit at Forum Health Tod Children’s Hospital, her dad’s wedding band was bigger than her legs.

“The ring fell off her leg,” said her father, Kenneth, tears welling in his eyes as he remembered that frightening time.

He then looked in wonder at his now beautiful, healthy 16-year-old daughter.

Kymberly was just one of some 75 miracles who, with their parents and families and the NICU nurses and doctors, spent this afternoon celebrating and getting reacquainted at the third annual NICU Graduate Reunion at Forum Health Beeghly Medical Park.
